Job summary

Freese and Nichols is seeking an Engineer I to begin December 2026, May 2027, or August 2027. You will work with experienced engineers on water, stormwater, and transportation projects, with pathways toward achieving EIT/EI and PE, across Florida and nearby states with location flexibility.

You will develop design plans, support hydraulic calculations, build models, visit project sites, and gradually take ownership of portions of real deliverables under mentorship.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in degree program listed above
• Internship Experience
• Student organization involvement, especially leadership roles

Responsibilities

• Develop design plans, support hydraulic calculations and drainage studies, analyze data, build models, and help prepare technical reports and construction documents
• Build and review models using industry-standard engineering software
• Work with experienced engineers who will explain the “why”, not just give you a task
• Visit project sites and see how designs move from plans to reality
• Gradually take ownership of portions of real project deliverables
