Job summary

HBC Engineering Company seeks an Entry Level Civil Engineer to assist with planning, design, permitting, and construction-phase services for public and private infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate seeking mentorship, broad exposure, and a clear path toward professional licensure.

You will work with project managers and senior engineers on design development, planning calculations, and coordination tasks across site development, drainage, utilities, and transportation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 0–2 years of relevant internship or co-op experience on civil infrastructure projects.
• Engineer in Training (FE/EIT) certification in progress is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office; familiarity with common engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site plans, grading plans, drainage calculations, utility layouts, and other engineering design documents.
• Prepare calculations, quantity takeoffs, exhibits, and plan production support under supervision.
• Support permit applications, agency submittals, and responses to review comments.
• Perform hydrologic, hydraulic, stormwater, and utility analyses using approved software.
• Coordinate with surveyors, utility reps, architects, landscape architects, and other disciplines.
