Job summary

IMEG in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Civil Engineering New Graduate to join our team. You will work with experienced engineers on basic design, analysis, and project execution, supported by mentorship and training from day one.

You’ll assist with hydraulic calculations, water/sewer design, and site grading while engaging with clients to understand needs and deliver compliant solutions. This is an entry-level, full-time in-office opportunity with ESOP benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Basic AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge and ability to complete AutoCAD training quickly.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Detail oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
• Clear communication, both written and oral.
• MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic calculations including hydraulic calculations, traffic projections, piling or rebar calculations, and earthwork balancing.
• Assist in designing water and sewer systems for smaller municipal projects.
• Assist with grading and stormwater designs for site plans.
• Interact with clients to understand needs and gather requirements.
• Support project planning and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and track project progress.
• Analyze low to medium complexity tasks and propose practical solutions.
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes and industry standards compliance.
• Stay updated with industry trends and innovation in civil engineering.
• Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in all work.
