Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified civil engineer for our construction and/or design teams. We are hiring for in-office design-focused roles, in-field construction inspection roles, or a combination of both. During the interview process, you will have the opportunity to express your interests, motivations, and skills that best match each role.

Description

• Oversee roadway design and construction activities.
• Manage projects in the field.
• Utilize civil engineering software (AutoCAD Civil 3D) to prepare design plans.
• Perform engineering calculations.
• Assist engineers with daily tasks across multiple projects.
• Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and agencies.
• Meet deadlines and produce high-quality work under tight schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam prior to start date.
• Knowledge of AASHTO and ASCE standards and policies.
• Familiarity with Wisconsin Department of Transportation and local agency procedures is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, especially for earthwork calculations in academic or professional settings.
• Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
• Ability to travel, including long drives, overnight trips, and rural or urban areas.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Availability for night work, weekends, and flexible schedules.
• Soft skills: teamwork, openness to feedback, adaptability, active listening, strong work ethic.
• Physical ability to walk on uneven terrain, stand for extended periods, lift at least 50 lbs., push/pull equipment, and use a keyboard.
