Job summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to be based in Hunt Valley, MD. The position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027 and involves supporting design and data analysis under supervision.

You will build analytic and design skills, use industry software, and contribute to project work under mentors. The role offers a hybrid work model near Hunt Valley with a path to growth in transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to pass Motor Vehicle Records review.
• Preferred: internship and/or professional civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, PowerInRoads/Open Roads, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-LevelCivil Engineer to be based in Hunt Valley, MD.

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2027.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Builds analytic and design skills.
• Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
• Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Must have a valid U.S driver’s license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior related intern and/or professional experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation, PowerInRoads/Open Roads, and other relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the preparation of technical reports and documentation.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Prior experience in field assessments or site visits for civil engineering projects.
