Thomas & Hutton, a Best Place to Work, seeks an entry-level Civil Engineer in Nashville to design site-development plans and develop water, sewer, and drainage layouts. You will collaborate with project teams, mentor staff, and gain hands-on experience with Civil 3D and AutoCAD while pursuing licensure.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil Engineering degree and an Engineer-in-Training credential or are within six months of obtaining it.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required or pursuing.
• Engineer-in-Training certification or ability to obtain within 6 months is preferred.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Civil 3D proficiency preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Design site-development plans for residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Create water, sewer, and storm-drainage layouts and construction drawings.
• Prepare permit packages and navigate agency requirements.
• Coordinate daily with clients, project managers, and discipline teams.
• Model designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D and refine them through reviews.
• Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
