Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a civil engineer to advance land‑development projects across the Southeast. You will design using Civil 3D, coordinate with clients and teams, and deliver accurate, standards‑driven drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• 4+ years of experience designing land‑development projects using Civil 3D.
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
• EIT or PE registration preferred (or ability to obtain PE within one year).
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• A client‑service mindset, strong initiative, and collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site‑development construction drawings for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.
• Design water, sewer, and storm‑drainage infrastructure using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Develop engineering design considerations and support permitting efforts for land‑development projects.
• Coordinate regularly with clients, project managers, and internal discipline teams.
• Produce and refine models in Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to project standards.
• Manage tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality expectations.

On‑site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
