Bolton & Menk, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Design Engineer (EIT) to join our Transportation team in Charlotte, NC. You will support project managers and engineers on municipal design and construction activities, contributing to safe, sustainable communities.

The role emphasizes early-career growth, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation), and on-site observation during construction seasons. Visa sponsorship is not offered; travel and licensure requirements apply.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire.
Prior experience in either infrastructure design and/or construction observation.
Working knowledge of CAD and design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation).

Responsibilities

Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on municipal projects.
Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies.
Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates.
Construction observation activities may include staking, documentation, measurement and testing, and coordination with contractors and City staff.
