Job summary

OxyChem, a Berkshire Hathaway company, seeks an entry-level Loading Technician to support New Johnsonville operations. You will perform tanker and railcar loading/unloading, ensure DOT and safety compliance, and document activities in the system.

Responsibilities include equipment inspection, field coordination of maintenance, and supporting Emergency Response Team duties as needed. English proficiency and a valid driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in math, reading comprehension, and mechanical reasoning.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English.
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs and wear PPE including respirator.

Responsibilities

• Maintains safety, environmental protection and health of employees and communities.
• Participates in inspections, near-miss reporting, incident investigations and area audits.
• Performs loading/unloading tasks for tanker trucks and railcars per SOPs and DOT rules.
• Completes required documentation related to loading/unloading and safety policies.
• Inspects equipment visually and auditorily; supports sludge filter press task areas.
• Monitors KPIs, logs data, and reports progress in regular meetings.
• Coordinates field maintenance and lock-out/tag-out procedures; supports emergency response.
• Assists with Training and ISO/QMS programs and plant improvements.
