Job summary

Lone Star College maintains a broad range of facilities and is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform beginner-level maintenance, repairs, and installations on campus buildings, equipment, and systems. This role helps provide a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for students, faculty and staff.

This position requires collaboration on campus projects, adherence to SOPs, and potential travel between LSC locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Texas driver's license required.
• Certifications in HVAC, plumbing, or electrical work preferred.
• Experience in building maintenance or campus setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings and common areas.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders promptly.
• Assist in carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs.
• Maintain and repair doors and windows.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to complete projects.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment.
• Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles.
• Ensure safety and compliance with SOPs.
• Provide emergency on-call support as required.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
