Job summary

HNTB's Central States office in Overland Park, KS is seeking an entry-level Drafting Technician I to support bridge and roadway projects. You will prepare construction details, create design plans, and assist with data transfer using CAD tools.

You will work in a team with engineers and project managers to ensure designs meet standards and assist with related duties as needed. An Associate of Science in Drafting or related field, or 2 years of relevant experience, and AutoCAD/MicroStation

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related.
• In lieu education, 2 years of relevant experience.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
• Strong interest in transportation and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of construction details, design plans, reports, and relevant project materials using CAD software.
• Transfers information from sources to final plans and maps in numerical, written, or electronic form.
• Assist in coordinating with engineers and project managers to verify design details according to standards and best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
