HNTB Corporation in Kansas City area is seeking a transportation designer/technician to support local and statewide highway projects. The role involves CAD design, data gathering, survey processing, and creating exhibits for meetings, with opportunities to support other disciplines within our Central States offices.

This moderately supervised position requires preparing drawings, verifying accuracy, and assisting with project management tasks as we advance projects from concept to design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or related field with 6 years of relevant experience, or
• Associate of Science in Drafting or Technical School or related with 8 years of relevant experience, or
• In lieu of education, 10 years of relevant experience

Responsabilités

• Verify drawing accuracy and ensure cross-disciplinary compatibility; calculate data, prepare layouts, specs and reports.
• Assist in engineering studies and evaluations from concept to design with project engineer/architect support.
• Attend project and pre-construction meetings and provide input on policies, procedures, and specs.
• Resolve technical design problems including field investigations and detailed design work.
• Provide general admin support by maintaining complex project plans and reporting progress.
• Suggest process improvements for project delivery at office level.
• Calculate quantities and perform engineering computations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
