Job summary

TechServ in Texas, Corpus Christi, is seeking an entry-level Engineering Technician/Designer for the Electrical Distribution team. You will begin with 2–3 weeks of hands-on training, earn industry certifications, and master the client’s CAD software as you design for new builds, alterations, and redevelopments.

You will join a team supporting planning, site evaluation, design analysis, and construction documentation, with travel about 20% to regional sites.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and Solid Works preferred.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers and Tech/Designers.
• Knowledge of electrical design, calculations, and design systems is a plus.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Use CAD software for client projects including new builds, alterations and redevelopments with Engineers.
• Execute electrical design assignments using distribution standard drawings and NES procedures.
• Make changes to designs or sketches and redlines on ongoing projects.
• Analyze reports, drawings and tests to plan and design projects.
• Interpret and apply design codes and specifications.
• Review design drawings for quality within scope, budget and schedule.
• Perform project tasks within budgeted hours and deadlines.
• Support internal change efforts to increase organizational effectiveness.
• Assist with project setup in project management systems and ensure data accuracy.
• Travel to regional job sites per client specifications (20%).
