Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina is seeking a detail-oriented business analyst to support major operations within payer systems. The role involves reviewing system enhancements, coordinating updates to reference files, and documenting issues with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.

You will work under supervision to learn requirements, perform tests, and may lead small projects as you gain experience with enrollment processes and quality controls.

Qualifications

• 4 years job related work experience OR Associate's degree AND 2 years job related work experience
• Basic knowledge of business support and systems concepts
• Strong teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
• Good analytical and conceptual skills
• Good organizational and problem solving abilities
• Understands how projects and implementations affect an organization and is able to link it to business processes
• 1 year provider enrollment experience
• Exposure to quality control, quality auditing, quality assurance

Responsibilities

• Obtains a detailed understanding of the major operations and functions in effect within the areas being supported.
• Reviews basic system enhancements/upgrades to determine applicability of customer file modification requirements.
• Assists in facilitating timely and accurate updates to reference files based on customer requests.
• Documents system problems and assists in their resolution.
• Reviews and completes various daily reports to ensure system is performing as expected.
• Prepares written reports and analysis, including recommendations pertaining to system functionality and testing progress.
• Prepares and reviews test data, test plans and test matrices for system changes.
• Develops test matrices to accurately reflect changes and detail expected outcome.
• Executes test cases and evaluates test results for errors.
• Relays issues and assists in successful implementation under supervision.
• Learns to define business requirements, perform tests, and may lead small projects.
• Learns how to prepare and review data for analysis to evaluate activities, performance and systems.
• Communicates with management to document workflow procedures.
• Assists in preparing verbal and written communication about business changes with management or staff.
• Functions as liaison between operations testers and information systems to facilitate communications.
• In addition, assists customer testers with issues that arise during projects.
