Job summary

BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina in Columbia, SC is seeking a benefits analyst to interpret and review benefit plan designs, create scope and design documents, and program or audit benefits within Benefit Files and RULEs databases to ensure accurate claims and eligibility processing. You will collaborate with analysts and business customers to implement solutions.

The role is full-time, onsite at the Columbia office, with standard 40-hour weeks.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree required or 2 years of related work experience.
• 2 years of experience in systems analysis, statistical analysis, claims processing or information systems/computer programming.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), organizational, problem solving and decision making skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with tight deadlines.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, review, and analyze benefit plan designs.
• Create scope, design and specification documents for programming of benefits.
• Program and/or audit benefits within Benefit Files and RULEs databases to ensure timely and accurate claims and eligibility processing.
• Develop process solutions to claims adjudication and eligibility issues.
• Coordinate with IS and business customers on development, setup, and testing of benefit data structures and RULEs.
