Job summary

WellStone in Huntsville, AL seeks an entry-level Behavioral Health Tech. This full-time role supports clients with mental health emergencies, assists the therapeutic team, and learns documentation per state standards, with a Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm schedule.

Requirements include a high school diploma, CPR/SAMA or ability to obtain, CPI training preferred, and experience with Microsoft Office. You will work in a nonprofit health services setting with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license with clean MVR (3 years).
• CPR and SAMA certifications or ability to obtain.
• MAC 1 (Medication Assistant Certification) and CPI training.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent instruction, guidance, and reinforcement to clients.
• Document residents’ progress in the Electronic Health Record.
• Coordinate activities and group therapy with the treatment team.
• Complete staff notes, incident and shift reports timely.
• May lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transport when needed.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment and assist with housekeeping.
• Attend meetings and trainings; submit timesheets promptly.
• Escort or supervise clients as required for hospital evaluations.
