Job summary

WellStone, Inc. in Cullman, AL is seeking an Entry level Behavioral Health Aide for weekend PRN shifts at Reid House Acute Care. The role supports reintegration, teaches living skills, and collaborates with the therapeutic team to follow the treatment care plan.

The responsibilities include documenting progress in the EHR, coordinating group activities, ensuring safety and cleanliness, and participating in trainings such as CPR/SAMA/MAC. Training will be provided to meet state standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Familiar with computer/Microsoft Suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Certified in CPR, SAMA, and MAC (or ability to obtain).
• Ability to work as part of a Team.

Responsibilities

• Provide consistent instruction, guidance and reinforcement to the clients in the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
• Regularly implements basic living skills training objectives and documents resident's progress in the Electronic Health Record.
• Helps to coordinate activities, conduct group therapy, document client's progress, maintain electronic documentation in timely manner.
• Work closely with Treatment Team.
• Regularly completes documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports in a timely and accurate manner.
• May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs.
• Ensure clients comply with rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include housekeeping.
• Administration of medication was supervised and documented.
• Attends staff meetings, in-service meetings, trainings as required and remains current on trainings/certifications.
• Works as schedules, correctly completes and submits timesheets, leave requests in a timely manner.
• Reports any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion and assist in the maintenance/housekeeping of the facility, and equipment.
• Performs verbal and at times physical de-escalation techniques as required, in addition to crisis interventions.
• Report to work on time, willing to remain on shift if unable to be relieved, coordinate coverage with other Behavioral Aides for dates unable to report to work, either annual or sick leave requests.
• May have to be escort/guardian for clients who are sent to the Hospital for evaluation.
• Complete other duties as assigned.

Job Details: Level: Entry, Job Location: Reid House Acute Care - Cullman, AL, Position Type: PRN (As Needed), Education Level: High School Diploma, Salary Range: Undisclosed, Travel Percentage: Up to 25%, Job Shift: Weekends Any Shift, Job Category: Nonprofit - Social Services, Job Description: Behavioral Health Aides care for clients in the group home setting of our Acute Care Services locations. The goal of this position is to help with reintegration, teach living skills, and partner with therapeutic team to ensure treatment care plan is followed. Our BHAs will learn proper documentation techniques and other state and federal standards followed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, earn certifications in their trainings, and create a path forward with a career in Mental Health. This is a PRN position for weekend work only, mainly nights. Selected candidates could work at any local WellStone location as needed.

What you'll be doing:

• Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement and reinforcement to the clients that are committed to the Crisis Stabilization Unit.
• Regularly implements basic living skills training objectives and documents resident's progress in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record.
