Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician I in Springfield, MO to provide direct and supportive care in a compassionate setting. The role focuses on safety, crisis response, and facilitation of group activities to promote recovery and growth.

The position emphasizes teamwork, documentation, and adherence to procedures for medications and records, while contributing to a caring, mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• HighSchool education or equivalent.
• Experience in Human Services or related field preferred.
• For St. Louis County Programs: Bachelor’s Degree, or MAADC I or II.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct oversight and support to clients/patients, ensuring safety throughout daily activities.
• Monitor vital signs and health indicators, escalating to medical intervention as necessary.
• Facilitate group education and structured activities to promote engagement and recovery skills.
• Document and report exceptional behaviors or areas of concern.
• Assist clients with personal care needs including grooming, bathing, and dressing.
• Maintain records of medication administration and monitor self-administration of medications.
• Participate as an active team member to identify clients’ strengths and needs.
• Ensure policy and procedure compliance including medication storage and documentation.
• Provide transportation to appointments as needed.
• Attend staff meetings and training sessions.
