Job summary

Mead & Hunt, Inc. in Rapid City, SD, is seeking an Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Aviation Midwest group. You will assist in developing plans, preparing reports, and drafting with AutoCAD and Civil3D for airport projects.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is willing to travel about 50% and pass background checks for airport sites. We offer an employee-owned culture and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field from an accredited college or be able to obtain the degree within six months of hire date.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil3D software programs is preferred.
• Willingness to travel approx. 50% and pass background checks for airport sites.
• Reading FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to inform designs.

Responsibilities

• Developing plans and specifications for airport design projects.
• Analyzing and preparing engineering reports, and construction cost estimates.
• Performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD and Civil3D to generate plan sheets.
• Assisting with construction administration and inspection tasks (field work included).
• Reading FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data for designs.
• Other tasks as assigned.
