Job summary

Plaza Tire Service in Edwardsville, IL is seeking a Junior Automotive Technician to perform basic diagnostic and repair tasks, including oil changes, tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balancing, brakes, suspension, and alignments.

The role requires a current valid driver’s license, be at least 18 years old, and the ability to obtain a State Inspector License where applicable. Compensation is $20–$27 per hour plus a flag rate, with benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of previous automotive technician experience.
• Ability to demonstrate proper use of computerized equipment for diagnostics.
• Current, valid Driver’s license.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to obtain a State Inspector License preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic mechanical repairs based on level of experience.
• Performs tire mounting/dismounting, wheel balance and tire rotation.
• Performs oil changes, fluid changes and power flushes and other basic services.
• Documents vehicle condition using the company’s inspection and repair orders.
• Conducts State Safety and Emission Inspections where applicable.
• Follows all safety procedures and reports concerns to direct supervisor.
• Adheres to Sun Auto’s core values and company policies.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends.
