Job summary

Avis Budget Group is seeking an entry-level automotive technician in Newark, New Jersey. You will perform preventive maintenance and light repairs on our fleet, including oil changes, tire rotations, and basic services, all in a safety-focused shop environment.

Ideal for candidates with at least 6 months of auto maintenance experience or automotive school coursework who want to earn ASE certifications and advance.

Qualifications

6 months auto maintenance experience or automotive school coursework.
Ability to obtain at least 1 ASE certification within the first year.
Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
On-site presence required; cannot be performed remotely.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and light repair on our fleet of newer vehicles (oil/fluids, tires, basic repairs).
Assist more experienced technicians with repairs and diagnostics as skills develop.
Help keep vehicles well maintained to ensure availability and safe rentals.
