Job summary

Sun Auto Tire & Service is seeking a General Service Technician in Tomball, TX. This entry-level role supports oil changes, tire services, and basic maintenance while learning from experienced technicians.

Qualifications

• Strong interest or desire to work in the automotive repair industry.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn basic automotive maintenance and repair processes.
• Ability to follow written procedures, safety standards, and store processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, service advisors, and store leaders.
• Valid driver’s license and successful completion of a Motor Vehicle Records check.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Perform tire services, including mounting, dismounting, balancing, and rotations.
• Perform oil changes and basic maintenance, including fluids, wipers, bulbs, batteries, and air and cabin filters.
• Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections and repair order documentation accurately and thoroughly.
• Identify safety-related issues and communicate findings through the proper store channels.
• Conduct State Safety and Emission Inspections where applicable, following guidelines under supervision.
• Keep customer vehicles, the shop, service area, showroom, restrooms, and outside areas clean and customer-ready.
• Transport customers and pick up parts, tires, and supplies using company or customer vehicles as directed.
• Follow all safety procedures, use PPE, comply with waste requirements, and report hazards.
• Work collaboratively with technicians and service advisors, accept coaching, and participate in ongoing training.
• Work a flexible schedule, including weekends as needed, and complete other duties as assigned.
