Job summary

The City of Houston is seeking a Customer Service Representative I for the Fleet Management Department. This entry-level role supports internal and external customers by handling inquiries, processing orders, and coordinating inventory and parts distribution.

The position offers a varying schedule across warehouses and service sites in the city of Houston. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of administrative or customer service experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months of administrative or customer service experience required.
• Associates degree may substitute for the experience requirement.
• Knowledge of Microsoft programs and M5 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Order, receive, stock, distribute, and complete inventory of surplus property for internal & external customers.
• Transport automotive parts to internal and external customers.
• Research, analyze, and resolve standard customer problems & inquiries by various forms of communication i.e. phone, email, in person, etc.
• Assist in the operation of "Just In Time" warehouse storage areas, receiving areas, or inventory controls and material management facility.
• Performs other duties as needed.
