Job summary

Fakhoury Global Immigration (FGI) seeks a newly licensed attorney to join as an Associate Attorney in our Troy, Michigan office. This entry-level role offers training and mentorship while you build a career in business immigration law, starting with nonimmigrant matters and potential growth into immigrant visa work.

You will assist with preparing filings, RFEs, NOIDs, and related documentation, review client and corporate records, and communicate with clients and foreign national employees on

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Recently licensed to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing.
• Interest in immigration law through coursework or an immigration clinic.
• No prior professional immigration law experience required.
• Foundational understanding of U.S. immigration law and visa processes.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation, review, and management of employment-based immigration petitions and filings.
• Draft responses to RFEs, NOIDs, and other government correspondence.
• Review documents to determine eligibility and required evidence.
• Draft petition support letters, forms, and supporting documentation.
• Monitor deadlines, expiration dates, and filing requirements.
• Advise clients on maintaining immigration status and extensions.
• Conduct legal research on U.S. immigration laws and policy developments.
• Communicate with corporate clients and employees about processes and timelines.
• Maintain case information in the firm’s case management system.
• Develop increasing independence in managing nonimmigrant matters.
