Peoples Gas System is seeking an Accountant I to join our Utility Accounting team in Florida. This entry-level role builds a strong accounting foundation through general ledger work, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysis.

You will contribute to month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting while learning utility-specific accounting practices and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or higher (or equivalent) required.
• No prior financial work experience required; strong analytical and numeric abilities expected.

Responsabilités

• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.
• Research variances and support accurate financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting.
• Support regulatory filings with agencies (FERC, FPSC) and data requests.
• Collaborate with partners across Finance and business units to meet deadlines.
