TIC - The Industrial Company is seeking an entry-level helper to assist skilled craftspersons on a construction/industrial site. You will learn to read blueprints, support fabrication of steel parts, and help hoist and position structural members under supervision.

Responsibilities include verifying alignment, cutting and welding steel as directed, and assembling riggings to move heavy equipment. Safety and attentiveness are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with previous experience in the field or related area.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision.
• Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools.
• Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit-for-duty medical, and background check.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required.

Responsabilités

• Read specifications or blueprints to determine locations, quantities, or sizes of material required.
• Assist skilled craftsman to fabricate metal parts, such as steel frames, columns, beams, or girders, according to blueprints or instructions from supervisors.
• Assist with unloading and positioning prefabricated steel units for hoisting; hoists steel beams, girders, or columns into place, using cranes or signaling hoisting equipment operators to lift and position structural steel members.
• Learn to verify vertical and horizontal alignment of structural steel members, using plumb bobs, laser equipment, transits, or levels.
• Cuts, bends, or welds steel pieces, using metal shears, torches, or welding equipment.
• Assemble hoisting equipment or riggings, such as cables, pulleys, or hooks, to move heavy equipment or materials.
