Shaw’s and Star Market in Rockland, ME is seeking a Front-End Team Member to deliver a friendly checkout experience and assist customers with purchases. You’ll scan items, handle payments, bag groceries, restock, and maintain a clean, efficient checkout area throughout the shift.

The role supports diverse customer needs in a fast-paced environment. Prior customer service is helpful, and flexibility for early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is expected.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing checkout experience preferred
• Accurate cash handling and payment processing
• Accurate scanning, pricing and order completion
• Basic math skills for cash handling and change
• Organization and time management to juggle tasks
• Support with bagging, cart retrieval, stocking, and front-end upkeep
• Identify and address pricing or service questions
• Follow store policies and checkout procedures
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow
• Stand for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide a friendly checkout experience for customers
• Process transactions accurately across cash, card, and digital payments
• Keep the front-end area clean, organized, and well‑stocked throughout the shift
• Assist with bagging, cart retrieval, and general checkout area upkeep
• Respond to pricing or service questions and resolve simple issues
• Follow company policies and register procedures during all shifts
