Job summary

Shaw’s and Star Market is seeking a Front-End Team Member to create a smooth checkout experience for customers. You will assist with transactions, bag groceries, answer questions, and keep the front end organized as you rotate through tasks during a fast-paced shift.

The role requires strong customer service, basic math, and the ability to stand for long periods with some lifting. Flexible scheduling including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is needed.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older (or 18 years of age or older, depending on local/state requirements)
• Completion of company cashier or front-end training upon hire
• Basic math and communication skills required
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Prior customer service experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Assist customers at checkout, answer questions, and complete purchases with accuracy
• Bag groceries, collect carts, restock supplies, and maintain the checkout area
• Follow company policies, register procedures, and checkout processes
• Adapt to changing tasks and customer flow throughout the shift
• Stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work indoors/outdoors as needed
