Woodward HRT/MPC is seeking a Machinist to set up, operate, and maintain a limited range of machines in a structured factory environment. The role requires reading blueprints, performing inspections, and ensuring conformance to engineering specs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of related work experience or applicable degree from a trade school.
• Knowledge of inspection techniques and ability to use micrometers, gauges, comparators, indicators and scales.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings/blueprints to determine tools and steps.
• Learn nonconformance procedures and document failed inspections accordingly.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Knowledge of CNC programming/machining, including basic reading/editing of programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup and operate machines with minimal supervision.
• Document nonconforming material and participate in root cause investigations.
• Adhere to safety standards and operating procedures.
• Enter data and instructions into computer programs and log times.
• Follow work instructions and inspect machined parts using calibrated tools.
• Inspect with precision inspection equipment and perform first piece checks when applicable.
• Interpret blueprints and perform routed operations of close tolerance parts.
• Complete paperwork with proper record retention.
• Apply basic Six Sigma tools and methodology.
