Job summary

PF Holdings is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate a range of machine tools for precision parts. You will read blueprints, adjust tooling, and verify measurements to ensure tight tolerances.

This role requires independent work ethic and attention to safety and quality. Responsibilities include selecting cutting speeds, inspecting finished parts, and collaborating with engineers to optimize processes.

Qualifications

• Vocational training or related coursework preferred.
• Knowledge of machines, tools, repair and maintenance.
• Strong math skills including arithmetic and geometry.
• Familiarity with precision plans, blueprints, drawings and models.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions and tolerances using micrometers and vernier calipers.
• Machine parts to specifications using lathes, mills, shapers or grinders.
• Measure and test finished units for defects and conformance with specs.
• Set up and operate basic and advanced machine tools for precision work.
• Align and secure fixtures, tools and materials on machines.
• Select cutting speeds and feeds per instructions or material properties.
• Study drawings and job orders to determine methods and sequences.
• Lay out, measure and mark stock for cuts; establish zero references.
