Michigan State University’s Broad College of Business and Burgess Institute seek an Associate Director of Development to lead fundraising for entrepreneurship initiatives. You will cultivate major gifts, manage a robust portfolio, and collaborate with university partners to advance student entrepreneurs and alumni engagement.

This role emphasizes donor engagement planning, stewardship, and strategic partnerships to strengthen MSU’s entrepreneurial ecosystem across campus and beyond.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or Business with 3–5 years of fundraising experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of tax laws affecting charitable giving.
• Valid driver's license.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Public speaking experience valued.
• Experience with Moves Management or similar relationship development approaches.
• Ability to close gifts of $50,000 or more.
• Travel willingness as required.

Mansioni

• Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts from individuals, corporations, foundations, and groups in support of Burgess Institute priorities.
• Manage an active portfolio of ~70 major gift prospects with $100,000+ capacity, using moves management to advance relationships.
• Collaborate with regional and unit Advancement teams to align opportunities in entrepreneurship and student success across MSU.
• Serve as a key liaison to connect donors with Burgess Institute priorities and MSU initiatives.
• Plan and host campus experiences for donors, alumni entrepreneurs, and corporate partners.
• Develop fundraising strategies and annual goals; monitor progress and campaigns.
