Job summary

Michigan State University’s College of Human Medicine seeks an Associate Director of Development to increase philanthropic support for student scholarships, public health and biomedical research, endowed faculty positions, and programmatic priorities.

The preferred candidate will be outcome-oriented and proven at closing 6- and 7-figure gifts, managing a portfolio of donors and traveling to major metro areas across the country.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
• Advanced degree desirable for progression.

Responsibilities

• Identify and manage a portfolio of major donor prospects (75+).
• Coordinate strategies with University Advancement to solicit gifts of $100,000 and more.
• Travel to major metro areas in-state and out-of-state to cultivate donors.
• Prepare annual fundraising goals and support campaigns within the college.
• Support donor stewardship, alumni engagement, and events.
