Job summary

Selby Jennings in Charlotte is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to play a meaningful role in every stage of the deal process and work directly with senior bankers on live transactions.

You will lead financial modeling, valuation, and creation of marketing materials, while coordinating due diligence and timelines. The role offers significant client exposure in a lean, entrepreneurial environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of investment banking experience with meaningful M&A reps.
• Strong M&A transaction experience with demonstrated involvement in live deal execution
• Advanced financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skill set
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
• Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
• Prior middle-market investment banking experience is preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Lead financial modeling, valuation analysis, and development of marketing materials including CIMs, management presentations, and buyer lists
• Coordinate and oversee due diligence processes, virtual data rooms, and transaction timelines
• Serve as a key day-to-day point of contact for clients, prospective buyers, investors, and external advisors
• Work closely with senior bankers to develop strategic recommendations and execute complex transactions
• Review and mentor Analysts while helping drive overall deal execution within a lean team structure
• Assist with business development initiatives, industry research, and the preparation of pitch materials
• Manage multiple active transaction processes simultaneously across sell-side M&A, buy-side advisory, and capital raising assignments
