Job summary

Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center in Cedar Rapids, IA, is seeking a Full Time Technical position to support the technical production of concerts, shows, exhibits, and events. Responsibilities

  • Assist with the technical setup, operation, and strike of concerts, comedy shows, exhibits, and special events.
  • Operate audio, lighting, video, staging, and presentation equipment.
  • Support rehearsals, sound checks, performances, and post-event breakdowns.
  • Ensure venues are event-ready prior to guest arrival.
  • Operate entertainment production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues before and during live events.
  • Assist with programming lighting, audio, and video systems as required.
  • Monitor production quality throughout each event.
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of entertainment equipment.
  • Report equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.

Salary Range: $24.00 To $24.00 Hourly

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting the technical production of concerts, comedy shows, exhibits, special events, and other live entertainment throughout Cedar Crossing Casino & Entertainment Center. This position operates and maintains audio, lighting, video, staging, and other entertainment systems while ensuring every event is presented safely, professionally, and at the highest production standards.

The successful candidate is technically skilled, dependable, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced live entertainment environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The following statements are intended as an overview of key responsibilities of the work for this position and are not all inclusive:

Event Production
  • Assist with the technical setup, operation, and strike of concerts, comedy shows, exhibits, and special events.
  • Operate audio, lighting, video, staging, and presentation equipment.
  • Support rehearsals, sound checks, performances, and post-event breakdowns.
  • Ensure venues are event-ready prior to guest arrival.
Technical Operations
  • Operate entertainment production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues before and during live events.
  • Assist with programming lighting, audio, and video systems as required.
  • Monitor production quality throughout each event.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Perform routine inspection and maintenance of entertainment equipment.
  • Report equipment issues and coordinate repairs when necessary.
  • Maintain organized storage areas for production equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with inventory management of technical equipment.
  • Work closely with the Entertainment Manager, Entertainment Crew Members, artists, promoters, and outside production companies.
  • Assist visiting production crews with load-in and load-out activities.
  • Support multiple entertainment venues across the property, including the Event Center and Compass Center.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with performers and vendors.
Safety & Compliance
  • Follow all safety procedures during setup, operation, and teardown.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Protect company equipment and assets.
Other Responsibilities
  • Resolves problems that are within the position's scope of authority and recommends courses of action to resolve problems that are beyond the scope of authority to the position’s supervisor.
  • Keeps position supervisor informed of relevant activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) plus technical training or related certifications preferred. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. Previous experience in live entertainment, theater, concert production, audiovisual systems, or event production preferred. Working knowledge of professional audio, lighting, video, and staging equipment. Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in a live event environment.

REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to the other duties described herein, every Team Member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:

  • Attend required training sessions offered by the casino.
  • Obtain and maintain required license(s).
  • Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
  • Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department.
  • Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gambling.
  • Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with gaming regulations and Internal Controls.
  • Take the appropriate steps to investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management.
  • Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any Team Member of which they have knowledge.
WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must have ability to:

  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Move around all work areas effectively and efficiently.
  • Work long hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Sit or stand for extended amounts of time.
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise levels, may be exposed to secondhand smoke and varied light levels, including flashing lights.
  • Ability to lift equipment and work on ladders or elevated platforms as required.
