Job summary

Skydance is seeking an attorney to join the Legal Department at Paramount Pictures studios in Los Angeles, focusing on themed entertainment and live experiences. The role supports global experiences based on Skydance IPs, including theme parks, hotels, live productions, immersive attractions, and consumer products.

The counsel will close a variety of transactions, provide day-to-day business and legal affairs support to creative teams, and guide projects across development, rights, and marketing

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice law in CA (or eligible to register as in-house counsel)
• 4+ years of transferable legal experience in media/entertainment preferred
• Experience managing transactional matters and direct client interaction
• Experience drafting entertainment or intellectual property agreements
• Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and deliver quick turnaround under high pressure
• Strong business and financial understanding and ability to adapt to changing media landscape

Responsibilities

• Draft and negotiate IP license agreements, service agreements and other agreements in themed entertainment and experiences, including theme parks, hotels, restaurants, live productions and consumer products
• Provide practical, strategic and actionable advice and counsel to business clients on development projects, risk allocation and legal implications
• Coordinate rights analyses and manage rights owner and talent relations for business initiatives
• Analyze motion picture and television production, financing and distribution agreements with talent and producers
• Review and provide guidance on design, creative and marketing materials
• Interact with internal and external counsel on insurance, compliance, rights, enforcement, and other legal areas
