Job summary

BMO Financial Group seeks an experienced UAT Lead to guide enterprise-wide user acceptance testing across banking platforms. You will supervise UAT governance, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure releases meet regulatory and risk requirements.

You will lead testing strategy, mentor analysts, and engage stakeholders to deliver audit-ready technology at scale. This hybrid role offers growth and competitive rewards.

Qualifications

• Typically 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 4 years leading UAT programs in banking or financial services environment.
• Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and experience working within Agile, Waterfall and hybrid delivery models.
• Deep expertise in UAT methodology - test strategy, test plan design, defect triage, entry/exit criteria and formal sign off process.
• 4+ years managing a team of UAT analysts, testers across multiple projects or business lines.
• Strong organizational skills to manage competing priorities, resource constraints and delivery timelines simultaneously.
• Demonstrated track record of identifying process gaps and implementing measurable improvements to UAT frameworks, tools and operating models.
• Proficiency with test management tools like Jira and HP ALM.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks.
• Openness to evaluating and adopting emerging tools including AI for test case authoring and UAT documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform user acceptance testing for projects of various complexities, including developing and managing the test strategy and reviewing test cases for traceability.
• Execute test cases, escalate issues, log outcomes, and participate in defect meetings.
• Review and validate defect resolutions and develop the exit report for releases.
• Develop UAT solutions and provide recommendations based on business strategy and stakeholder needs.
• Coordinate the overall test plan, estimate UAT cycles, schedule and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement UAT solutions.
• Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment.
• Lead change management activities and ensure governance across initiatives.
• Break down strategic problems and provide UAT insights and recommendations.
• Monitor UAT performance and address issues to ensure quality.
