Qualifications

This opportunity is designed for a strategic leader who combines enterprise technology expertise, customer experience transformation, advanced analytics, and executive-level business acumen.

We need someone who starts with the business problem, not the technology.

This is not a traditional Project Manager, Program Manager, or platform-specific technology role. You will help define what the organization should do next, why it matters, and how to turn strategic opportunities into measurable results.

What You'll Do

• Shape enterprise strategy: Develop 1-5 year technology strategies and transformation roadmaps aligned with business priorities, customer outcomes, and operational performance.
• Solve complex business challenges: Identify root causes, assess processes, quantify opportunities, and develop actionable recommendations.

• Advise executive leadership: Present concise, data-driven recommendations, investment options, architectural trade-offs, and business cases to senior executives.
• Drive measurable outcomes: Partner with business leaders, architects, engineers, and technology teams to translate strategy into implementation, adoption, and realized business value.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of progressive experience in enterprise technology strategy, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, or technology leadership.
• Demonstrated experience developing enterprise-level technology strategies and leading complex transformation initiatives.
• Broad technical expertise across hardware/infrastructure and software, including cloud, enterprise applications, data/AI, integration, and cybersecurity.
• Experience leveraging customer analytics, business intelligence, AI, or digital transformation to improve customer-facing or operational processes.
• Exceptional executive presence, strategic thinking, and the ability to communicate complex recommendations clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
• Proven ability to take initiatives from business problem identification through strategy, implementation, adoption, and measurable results.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field.

What Will Set You Apart

• Experience in utilities, energy, oil and gas, industrial operations, or other asset-intensive environments.
• Background in customer experience transformation, customer operations, CRM/CIS platforms, or advanced customer analytics.
• Experience with AI/ML, intelligent automation, IoT/IIoT, connected assets, or emerging technologies.
• Executive strategy consulting, technology advisory, or CIO/CTO-level leadership experience.
• MBA or relevant master's degree.
• Location: Houston, TX - Hybrid (regular onsite collaboration required)
• Compensation: $140-$150/hour (1099)
• Duration: 3-year, full-time contract (~40 hours/week)
• Conversion: Potential contract-to-hire based on business needs, performance, and mutual agreement
• Work Authorization: Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Contracting: Individual 1099; no third-party C2C. Single-member LLC arrangements may be considered.
• Relocation: Houston-area candidates preferred; relocation at candidate's expense.
