Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Technology Engineer, Principal to provide enterprise-wide technical leadership and strategic direction for technology engineering initiatives. This role guides modernization efforts, establishes engineering best practices, and ensures solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term business strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/SE or equivalent required.
• 10+ years in technology engineering or related IT fields.
• Deep knowledge of Tier 0 applications and infrastructure, AD replication, DNS/DHCP, PKI and GPO preferred.
• Automation expertise to standardize builds and reduce manual work preferred.
• Virtualization and failover strategy experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and ability to elevate team capabilities preferred.
• Experience evaluating new technologies and proof-of-concepts preferred.
• Understanding of security frameworks and Zero Trust principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership for enterprise technology strategy, governance, and architecture alignment.
• Leads design and implementation of cross-platform integrations and modernization initiatives.
• Defines engineering standards, frameworks, and automation practices to improve operational efficiency.
• Partners with IT and business leaders to prioritize and deliver strategic technology initiatives.
• Mentors engineers and promotes continuous technical excellence.
• Evaluates emerging technologies to inform architecture and roadmap decisions.
• Complies with change control, documentation standards, and Tier 0 governance.
