Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Architect to join our Enterprise Technology Solutions organization. Architects design and guide the technology vision, bridging business strategy with technical implementation to create scalable, enterprise-wide solutions.

You will define target state architectures and roadmaps, conduct proofs of concepts, and collaborate with development teams to accelerate modernization while maintaining governance and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent.
• 6+ years engineering or 2–3 years architecture experience.
• Hands-on architecture/engineering with modern technologies.
• Experience modernizing technology initiatives.
• Ability to lead and influence teams.
• Experience in agile environments.
• Insurance technology knowledge preferred.
• Understanding of value creation and business capability models.
• Knowledge of the insurance industry.
• Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture within a domain for a single business unit.
• Provide architectural direction on patterns.
• Help define target state architecture and roadmaps.
• Prototype and conduct proofs of concepts.
• Support modernization initiatives and reduce technical debt.
• Build relationships and gain buy-in across teams.
