Zipline is seeking a Software Engineer Intern on the Enterprise Systems team in a full‑time, in‑person role at our South San Francisco office. You will take full ownership of the operational nervous system powering manufacturing, supply chain, and inventory traceability, delivering high‑availability services and close collaboration with hardware and operations partners.

Qualifications

• Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in CS/SE/CE or related field.
• Product-minded engineering focusing on user needs and business value.
• Systems thinking to define right solutions and improve real-world processes.
• Strong fundamentals in software design and data modeling.
• Ability to use AI to accelerate development while maintaining quality.
• Experience with a modern stack: Python, Go, PostgreSQL, React, Kafka, gRPC, AWS.

Responsibilities

• Drive core product domains for Manufacturing Execution, Supply Chain, Finance, Parts Traceability, and Inventory.
• Deliver measurable impact by increasing uptime and reducing manual interventions.
• Lead technical design of APIs, data models, and service boundaries.
• Bridge hardware and software with resilient integrations to hardware tooling.
• Own production excellence with on-call rotations and incident response.
• Embedded discovery on the shop floor to prototype workflows.
• Elevate the team by mentoring and refining CI/CD and automated testing.
