Solutions Architect | Remote (US) | Full-time | Senior individual contributor
Our client, a growing multi-brand technology company in a regulated industry, is hiring a Solutions Architect to design how its systems work together end-to-end. You will connect business applications, cloud platforms, real-time communications, and connected devices into one secure, scalable architecture.
This is a hands-on architecture role, not a people-management role. You will own the design of solutions that span many systems and partner with specialist architects in data, security, CRM, and devices.
What You'll Do
- Design end-to-end solutions that turn business needs into clear technical architectures across applications, integrations, cloud, and devices.
- Architect API-first and event-driven integrations between CRM, ERP, communications platforms, and connected-device systems.
- Own non-functional requirements across your designs: performance, scalability, availability, disaster recovery, and SLAs/SLOs.
- Apply secure-by-design practices, including threat modeling, identity, encryption, and compliance with healthcare and telecom regulations.
- Produce architecture artifacts: system diagrams, integration maps, data flows, and architecture decision records (ADRs).
- Evaluate build-vs-buy options and recommend where to consolidate or modernize platforms.
- Lead architecture reviews and explain tradeoffs in cost, speed, and risk to engineers and executives alike.
What You Bring
- 8+ years in solutions or enterprise architecture, personally designing solutions that span multiple systems and vendors.
- Strong integration expertise: APIs, event-driven patterns, and connecting business applications such as CRM and ERP.
- Hands-on experience designing on AWS and/or Azure.
- A solid grounding in non-functional requirements, including reliability, scalability, and disaster recovery for production systems.
- Working knowledge of security architecture: threat modeling, zero-trust, and identity and access management.
- Experience in a regulated environment (healthcare, telecom, finance, or similar).
- The ability to explain technical tradeoffs clearly to both engineers and business leaders.
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience.
Nice to have:
- Salesforce and/or NetSuite solution design, or iPaaS platforms such as Celigo, MuleSoft, Boomi, or Workato.
- Telecom or real-time communications: SIP, WebRTC, call routing, IVR, or CCaaS/UCaaS platforms.
- IoT or connected-device platforms, especially health monitoring, wearables, or medical alert systems.
- Real-time event streaming (Kafka/Confluent) and safety-critical alerting pipelines.
- Time-series databases (InfluxDB, TimescaleDB) and NoSQL stores (DynamoDB).
- HIPAA, FCC, or accessibility compliance.
- Supporting multiple brands or business units on shared technology.
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, Salesforce, TOGAF, or security (CISSP, CCSP).
Why This Role
- Fully remote, anywhere in the US.
- Real architecture ownership across a wide, interesting technology landscape.
- Work that directly improves the lives of the people who use the products.
