Job summary

State of Michigan’s Department of Technology Management and Budget seeks an Enterprise Solution Assessment Architect to provide architectural analysis and guidance during the Acquisition and Implementation phases, ensuring proposed solutions align with enterprise standards and statewide technology strategies.

The role collaborates with agency stakeholders to lead cross-functional design sessions, coordinate IT resources, and ensure outcomes reflect Cloud Smart, DevSecOps, Human-Centered Design,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with at least 21 semester credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management or mathematics.
• Three years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
• An associate's degree with 16 semester (24 term) credits in one or a combination of the following: computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, mathematics or equivalent; and at least two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.
• OR At least an educational level typically acquired through the completion of high school and at least three years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician and four years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11 or one year equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst 12.

Responsibilities

• Provide architectural analysis and guidance during Acquisition and Implementation phases.
• Lead cross-functional design sessions with agency stakeholders.
• Coordinate IT resources and ensure project outcomes align with enterprise architecture standards and statewide technology strategies.
• Align proposed IT solution designs with regulatory standards such as HIPAA, CJIS, or IRS Publication 1075 when applicable, ensuring security and privacy of sensitive data.
