Job summary

Fortive seeks a Capability Architecture Specialist to own and govern the enterprise skills taxonomy, starting from an external library and adapting it to Fortive’s language and strategic capabilities. You’ll ensure taxonomy integrity, metadata quality, governance workflows, and version control while partnering with Talent Partners, HRBPs, HR Operations and HR Technology.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, information management or related field.
  • 3+ years in HR operations, data management, or knowledge management.
  • Experience maintaining structured data, taxonomies, or controlled vocabularies.
  • Strong data management discipline including version control and documentation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain decisions to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Stand up Fortive's enterprise skills taxonomy from the ground up using an externally acquired library.
  • Define architecture with domains, categories, skills, definitions, aliases, and metadata.
  • Create design principles and naming standards balancing external market language with Fortive relevance.
  • Validate priority skill families with stakeholders and translate business needs into taxonomy updates.
  • Establish baseline, migration plan, and release plan for duplicates and local variants.
