Erias Ventures in Annapolis, MD seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the watchfloor in a 24/7 environment. You will diagnose incidents, perform initial fixes, and coordinate with Tier II while maintaining clear communications with users.

The role requires cloud and security-focused expertise and willingness to travel for installations and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years' experience with software and system deployments.
• Experience with Linux system administration and containerization.
• Knowledge of cloud deployments and DevSecOps practices.
• Active IAT II CWIP / DoD 8570 compliant cert (Security+).
• CCNA certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier I/II support for watchfloor within a 24×7/365 environment.

Description

The DevOps Engineer is responsible for providing Tier I/II support for the integrated watchfloor capability within a 24×7/365 operational environment. You'll operate as single point of contact (SPOC) between the service provider and operational users, capturing, logging, categorizing, and prioritizing all incidents via a standardized ticketing system; Tier I/II personnel will cover the watch floor if not elsewhere. Perform initial diagnosis using established knowledge bases and incident models. Attempt first-contact resolution for standard issues (password resets, account access, basic navigation, known errors). Escalate unresolved incidents to Tier II support via functional escalation procedures. Maintain incident status communication with users throughout the resolution lifecycle. Document all troubleshooting steps and resolution actions to populate and expand the knowledge base. Provide 24/7/365 coverage via rotating 12 hour shifts (0500 and 1700 daily), aligning with 2 week rotation schedules.

Clearance

A current Top-Secret/SCIwith polygraph security clearance is required. Candidates cannot be sponsored or nominated for a government security clearance under this position.

Experience

Eight (8) years' experience with software and system deployments, Linux system admin, containerization, cloud deployments, DevSecOps.Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Computer Science. May substitute four years' experience in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree. May substitute two years' experience with MS in Engineering or CS.

Required skills:

• Recent experience within the last three years: Kubernetes, containerization, and cluster orchestration
• Operating Systems & Administration
  • Linux system administration (RHEL / CentOS, etc.)
  • scripting with Python / Bash
• Containerization & Orchestration: Experience with Docker
• Recent (within 3 years) hands-on work with Kubernetes and cluster orchestration
• Cloud & DevSecOps:
  • Cloud deployment experience
  • Familiarity with security-focused
• Active IAT II CWIP / DoD 8570 compliant cert (i.e., Security+)
• CCNA certification
• Be available for 24/7 call-in support for operational system critical discrepancies
• Willing to travel for information system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
