Job summary

Grainger, a leading North American distributor, seeks a Senior Manager, Corporate Safety & Security, to lead enterprise governance across Grainger's operations. You will drive regulatory compliance, risk management, and program execution while collaborating with cross-functional leaders from Legal, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

Based at Grainger's Lake Forest, IL HQ, this hybrid role requires strategic oversight and hands-on leadership of the Safety & Security organization to protect people,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Business, or related discipline.
• 7+ years in EH&S, Risk Management, Compliance, or Security in a multi-site environment.
• 5+ years leading enterprise governance, regulatory compliance, management systems, or cross-functional initiatives.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, environmental, occupational safety regulatory requirements and cross-jurisdiction application.
• Experience with governance, regulatory compliance, environmental management, and risk controls in complex operations.
• Experience leading teams and cross-functional partnerships across Operations, Legal, Engineering, Supply Chain, Security, and senior leadership.
• Certifications CSP/CHMM/CPP preferred upon Hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise Safety & Security governance framework and develop governing processes and controls.
• Provide enterprise leadership for regulatory and environmental compliance, permits, reporting, and regulatory interpretation.
• Lead Management of Change process with governance, reviews, and risk evaluations.
• Collaborate with Directors and regional leaders to align programs, systems, reporting, analytics and training with requirements.
• Coordinate regulatory inspections, agency interactions, and corrective actions.
• Oversee business continuity, resilience, and emergency preparedness programs.
• Support executive leadership with performance analysis and recommendations for improvement.
• Lead Safety & Security team and partner with multiple departments to align initiatives with regulations.
