Job summary

Maximus is seeking an experienced Release Manager to coordinate enterprise releases across multiple teams and value streams. The role requires strong SAFe and ITIL knowledge, plus hands-on experience with PI planning and cross-functional collaboration.

This contingent-position opportunity will depend on contract award and position availability. U.S. citizenship or Public Trust eligibility is required, with potential DHS suitability and security considerations.

Qualifications

Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Experience as Release Manager or Release Train Engineer in enterprise IT.
Experience coordinating large-scale, multi-team release planning and execution.
Strong knowledge of ITIL-based change and release management processes.
Experience applying Agile and SAFe frameworks, including PI planning and cross-team coordination.
Ability to manage release dependencies, risks, and scheduling across stakeholders.
Experience coordinating releases in environments requiring high availability and SLA adherence.
Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or related field or equivalent experience.
8+ years in IT service management, release management, or Agile delivery roles.

Responsibilities

Serve as the enterprise Release Manager coordinating releases across teams.
Lead release planning, sequencing, and dependency management.
Coordinate with the Configuration Change Manager for governance and lifecycle alignment.
Facilitate PI planning with Product Owners and cross-functional teams.
Align release schedules with stakeholders and communicate outages.
Track release progress, risks, and performance using dashboards and Agile/SAFe metrics.
Ensure release documentation and audit-ready artifacts are maintained.
