Job summary

Maximus seeks an experienced Release Manager to support a mission-critical federal program. This role leads release planning, governance, and deployment activities across applications and infrastructure environments on-site in Annapolis Junction, MD and requires an active secret clearance.

The candidate will manage the release lifecycle, coordinate DevOps changes, and align cross-functional teams to ensure successful deployments with timely communications and post-deployment validation.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance is required.
• U.S. citizens; dual citizens cannot be considered.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in release management, DevOps, configuration management, or related technical role.
• Experience with enterprise-level software builds, releases, and deployments across development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Experience with version control, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile or DevSecOps methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute releases across mission-critical systems.
• Manage the release lifecycle, including version control, implementation and rollback planning, Go/No-Go reviews, deployment coverage, and post-deployment validation.
• Maintain deployment, implementation, and communication plans in accordance with configuration management and document control standards.
• Coordinate software builds, DevOps configuration changes, and deployments across development, test, staging, and production environments.
• Partner with Agile, DevSecOps, engineering, testing, operations, infrastructure, and third-party teams to align release schedules, dependencies, and resources.
• Facilitate TRB, CRB, CRQ, and OCCB meetings; prepare agendas, materials, decisions, and action items.
• Identify and mitigate risks, issues, conflicts, and resource constraints affecting release scope, schedule, quality, or stability.
• Provide timely release communications on schedules, readiness, status, outcomes, and required actions.
• Administer GitLab, including upgrades, patching, incident resolution, access, and account management.
• Track release activities, change requests, and deployment status in EWM and ServiceNow.
• Coordinate application testing, release validation, production readiness, and post-deployment verification.
• Improve release and configuration management processes, tools, documentation, and training.
