Job summary

SMS DATA PRODUCTS GROUP, INC is seeking an Enterprise Operations Manager to lead and coordinate enterprise network operations in support of AFCENT mission requirements.

You will oversee technical teams, monitor performance, manage outages, and drive process improvements across the AFCENT enterprise network, including cybersecurity engineering and support.

Qualifications

  • BS in related field with 5+ years IT operations and enterprise services experience.
  • Experience installing Windows Server, storage, DNS/DHCP, remote access, and enterprise networks.
  • Certifications: CCNP and ITIL Foundation; VMware or VCTA preferred; 60 days to acquire ITIL.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize and manage staff and overall operations to align with goals.
  • Oversee monitoring, status reporting, and actions for the AFCENT enterprise network.
  • Guide a team of professionals supporting the AFCENT network.
  • Manage network performance and end-to-end service quality.
  • Review end-to-end network performance and QoS.
  • Develop SOPs for responses to outages or disruptions.
  • Coordinate outages and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Identify process improvements with cross-functional teams.
  • Provide general IT and networking support.
  • Travel for CONUS/OCONUS TDY as required.

Job description

SMS is seeking a highly skilled Enterprise Operations Manager to lead and coordinate enterprise network operations in support of AFCENT mission requirements This role provides oversight of technical teams responsible for monitoring sustaining and improving the AFCENT enterprise network with a focus on network performance service quality outage coordination operational impact assessments and continuous process improvement AFCENTs mission is to deliver combat ready air space communications and cyberspace capability for USCENTCOM helping maintain security and stability throughout Southwest Asia We support the AFCENT Commander USCENTCOM coalition and joint partners and warfighters who rely on NIPRNet SIPRNet partner networks and other command and control systems The AFCENT NOSC program is focused on running and protecting a 247 enterprise network and systems operations including cybersecurity engineering maintenance and technical support keeping the AFCENTs theater communications and IT infrastructure ready secure and available to effectively execute the AFCENT mission Since 1976 SMS has specialized in modernizing legacy IT and sustaining complex enterprise environments for federal agencies With the goal of building long term partnerships with our customers we invest in our employees by providing the training tools and support they need to keep critical missions operational improve performance and reduce risk SMS is headquartered in McLean Virginia with offices and on site operations at customer locations throughout the United States For additional information on SMS visit wwwsmscom

Job Responsibilities
  • Plan organize and manage staff and overall operations management to ensure alignment
  • Responsible for the overall monitoring status reporting and coordination of actions for the AFCENT enterprise network
  • Provide oversight and guidance to a team of technical professionals responsible for supporting the AFCENT enterprise network
  • Responsible for the management of network performance and end to end service quality for the Network infrastructure
  • Reviews and analyze overall end to end network performance to maintain an acceptable level of network quality of service
  • Participates in the assessment and selection of the network performance and management toolssystems for existing and new network technologies and services
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures SOPs on to respond to unexpected issues or plannedunplanned disruptions
  • Identify trends that may lead to service or network disruption and recommend remediation actions
  • Conduct operational impact assessments of outages and potential outages
  • Coordinate and manage authorized service interruptions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Report status of planned and unplanned outages and disruptions
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and collaborate with multi functional teams for implementation
  • Perform any additional duties as required by local policy and guidance

  • Provide WAN Enterprise support
  • Provide meetingsbriefings support
  • Provide functional training support as required
  • Provide CONUSOCONUS deploymentTDY travel support as required
Required Qualifications
  • BS in related field and 5 or more years relevant experience; or 7 or more years relevant experience IT operationsservices management UnixLinux and Firewall experience LAN and WAN Enterprise support experience
  • Must possess experience and demonstrate an understanding with installation of Microsoft Windows Server in Host and Compute Environments and Windows Server using server images Experience with implementation of storage solutions high availability Domain Name Systems DNS Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol DHCP network connectivity and remote access solutions core and distributed network solutions advance network infrastructure and maintain and monitor server environments
  • Certifications Required VCTA or VMWare experience CCNP ITIL Foundation personnel have up to 60 days to acquire ITIL Foundation certification
