Job summary

Peraton in Chantilly, VA seeks a mid‑level Enterprise Applications Engineer to support a DoD customer on a cloud‑based enterprise platform. You will design, automate, and sustain Jira and Confluence environments, build Ansible playbooks, and collaborate across support tiers to improve mission‑critical services.

This role requires TS/SCI eligibility or clearable, DoD‑driven IT certs, and hands‑on experience with Jira/Confluence Data Center, Linux (RHEL), PostgreSQL, and automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years experience; OR Master's with 3+ years experience.
• Candidate must possess minimum Top-Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
• IT certifications: Security+, CASP, CISSP, etc., per DoD 8140 intermediate level.
• Familiarity with Atlassian product lifecycle; upgrades and addon configuration.
• Design, deploy, and accredit Jira/Confluence deployments in classified environments.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal/external partners to define requirements and design automated solutions across the enterprise service portfolio.
• Build and operate automated environments for Jira/Confluence; develop Ansible playbooks for config, deployment, and patching in cloud.
• Configure collaboration spaces and service components to support workflows and RBAC.
• Automate routine administration; reduce manual effort and prevent configuration drift.
• Support CM for Jira/Confluence; document changes and test in sandbox; ensure compliant updates.
• Develop and maintain workflows across Jira and supported services for automated task execution.
• Stage and validate offline packages, updates, and repositories for deployment.
• Manage permission models, notification schemes, screens, and configurations for consistency.
• Deploy add-ons and platform extensions across services; ensure security and reliability.
• Administer and sustain RHEL; patch, break-fix, restore; provide hardening inputs to security team.
• Operate PostgreSQL DB: backups, patches, health checks, restores.
• Troubleshoot stack end‑to‑end from app to OS to database.
