Job summary

Publicis Sapient is seeking an Enterprise Java Architect to design and implement Java microservices-based solutions. You’ll lead technical directions, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive scalable, cloud-native architectures that deliver business value.

You will rely on Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, AWS/Azure/GCP and containers (Docker, Kubernetes) to build resilient systems, implement observability, security and CI/CD practices while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in Java development with microservices focus.
• Proven Spring Boot and Spring Cloud expertise.
• Experience on cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containers.
• Strong REST, event-driven design, and messaging (Kafka/RabbitMQ).

Enterprise Java Architect

As an Architect specializing in Java Microservices, you will play a key role in designing and implementing scalable, high-performance solutions for our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to architect, develop, and optimize microservices-based applications that drive business value and innovation.

Your Impact

• Design and implement Java-based microservices architectures that are scalable, resilient, and high-performing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure best practices in microservices development, including API design, security, and observability.
• Optimize system performance and ensure seamless integration with cloud-native technologies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Stay up to date with emerging trends in Java, microservices, and cloud computing to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Your Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Java development, with a strong focus on microservices architecture.
• Proven expertise in Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and other Java-based frameworks for building microservices.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, event-driven architectures, and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps best practices.
• Proficiency using AI pair-programmers and engineering assistants (specifically GitHub Copilot and/or Claude Code) to optimize workflow efficiency and accelerate problem-solving"
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality solutions.

Set Yourself Apart With

• Certifications in Java, Spring, or cloud platforms (AWS Certified Developer, Azure Developer Associate, etc.).
• Experience with serverless computing and event-driven microservices.
• Knowledge of distributed tracing, logging, and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Jaeger).
• Strong understanding of security best practices for microservices and cloud-native applications.

Additional Information

Salary Range: $135,000 - $190,000

The range shown represents a grouping of ranges currently in use at Publicis Sapient. Actual range for this position may differ, depending on location and specific skillset required for the work.
